Our Story

Our mother company Rota Amsterdam was was started by three friends: Luciana, Fran & Edo with the objective of offering tours in Portuguese for Brazilian tourists visiting Amsterdam and surroundings.

Our goal wasn’t to just offer some standardised tours to our clients. Instead, we wanted to offer an real experience with a personal touch from a local guide that does not only show you the touristic highlights, but also takes you to places that locals go and tells you about day to day life.

Since we all have a strong connection with Brazil, Luciana and Fran were born and Edo lived there, we decided to focus on Brazilian tourists first. Also, because we thought that the touristic offer for this group was lacking and that we should change that. After a couple of years of working with over 700 Brazilian clients, sharing countless unforgettable moments and making lots of great friends, we decided to expand our horizon.

So, we started Route Amsterdam, offering the same experience but now for English speaking tourists visiting our lovely city. Why not let more people join in on the fun, right 😀?
In the meantime, Fran left the company to pursue an even bigger dream, namely being a university professor in the United States, but we have added other amazing guides and friends to our team. Each of them with their own background, interests and perspective of the city.
