Which Pass Tickets to Use in Amsterdam

What should you do? Which one should you get? I Amsterdam City Card, Holland Pass, or Amsterdam City Pass. After all, what’s the difference?

Cecília from @aceciliadantas already mentioned this card here. This pass has an initial 60 euro fee and it must be used within 24 hours. With it, you can access more than 70 museums inside and outside Amsterdam.

This pass also offers: unlimited transportation in Amsterdam (trams, subways, and buses) and a boat ride through Amsterdam’s canals. Trains are not included.

In Cecília’s post here, she also explained the types of public transit you’ll find here. I recommend that you check it out, in case you haven’t yet 😊.

It is important to plan ahead, especially if you choose the 24-hour pass because as soon as you check-in (either in transit or at the first museum), the countdown starts. But they have longer-lasting passes, for 48 hours, 72 hours, etc. Another tip is that you start visiting the museums during the morning, since they’re not as busy early in the day.

Oh, and for the Van Gogh Museum, you must confirm the time of your visit online, at iamsterdam.com/timeslot.

Museums such as Anne Frank are not included in the package and you must buy it directly from the website 2 months in advance, or else you’re very unlikely to be able to buy a ticket!

Holland Pass is a pass for those who want o enjoy the country’s touristic attractions and museums. They have three versions: small (45 euro), medium (60 euro), and large (75 euro).

The difference lies in the number of tickets each of them offers. The small version offers 3 tickets, the medium, 4 tickets, and the large, 6 tickets for attractions of your choice. Along with the pass, you get a very detailed map showing the attractions and with recommendations on what to do, as well as discounts for many other attractions around the country.

You can buy it online and use the barcode on the email you get or you can also get a voucher in collection points around Holland.

Oh, and this pass considers attractions as gold or silver. When you buy it, take into account the category of the places you want to visit.
