History of Bruges

In the 15th century, because it was a city of merchants, Bruges attracted much wealth, becoming the European capital of trade at the beginning of the Renaissance. Lots of Bruges’ main spots are related to Christianity. That is why the city holds important examples of European sacred art, such as the Church of Our Lady, which features a marble Madonna made by Michelangelo in the early 1500s.

Main Public Park and Lake of Love

We will stop by the city’s main public park, with a beautiful green area, which is considered one of the most romantic spots in the world. It is located in the area of the Lake of Love and the Lover’s Bridge. The legend says that only those who cross the lake’s bridge with their soulmates can experience eternal love. Don’t worry, we will cross the bridge!

We will also visit the majestic city hall, from the 14th century, the Court of Justice (Renaissance-style building which was a Middle Age court until the 18th century), and much more.
